Lunch and Learn 2017-2018
 
Health Ministries’ Lunch and Learn has an exciting variety of speakers planned for this program year. A light meal will be served for a free will offering or you can bring a sack lunch. Please call to register two business days before to give us a count for lunch. All are welcome. Lunch will be ready around noon with our speaker presenting from 12:10-1:00. Please call to sign up to attend the Tuesday before the event to give us an accurate count for lunch.

LWR Farmers Market Coffee is a new line of coffee sourced directly from farmers participating in Lutheran World Relief projects. Every delicious cup helps transform poor communities that depend on their coffee crop to feed their families. Farmers are given a stable, predictable, and higher price upfront for their beans.
With LWR Farmers Market Coffee, farmers aren’t just suppliers of coffee beans, they are partners in the coffee business. Learn how you can make a difference by purchasing coffee through this new program. Come and sample a variety of coffee (available to purchase here at Trinity) as you enjoy bagels with toppings and biscotti.

Driving Safety

At least 400 people died from crashes on Iowa roadways in 2016. nearly a 27 percent increase over the previous year and the most since 2008, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation Trooper Keith Duenow, Iowas State Patrol Public Resource Officer, will share ways that e they are attempting to combat distracted driving, impaired driving and driving at excessive speed. Come for information and life saving tips.

De-Stress with Laughter Wellness

Say goodbye to stress and get a healthy D.O.S.E. of happiness (Dopamine, Oxytocin, Serotonin, Endorphins)!Laughter Wellness is an interactive practice that allows you to laugh, regardless of how you are feeling, because there are so many benefits of laughter. Becky Elsbernd, Trinity Lutheran Church Parish Nurse, will be the

Love Songs from the Past

Accordion player, Henry Kalke, will lead us on a musical trip down memory lane as we sing love songs from the past like Love Me Tender and Let Me Call You Sweetheart. February is a great month to remember and celebrate those relationships that have shaped us and helped us grow into the people we are today.

For the Love of Quilting

Quilting is a cherished tradition that has been a favorite past time for many. A panel of individuals who love quilting will share their favorite block and ways they have used it in quilted reactions. If you have a quilt you would like to display at the event, please contact the church office. Whether you want to be inspired to try a new hobby or share your joy of quilting, this lunch and learn is for you.

Germany Trip

A group from Mason City, including many Trinity members, will walk in the footsteps of Martin Luther on a trip to Germany March 13-21 to celebrate the 500th anniversary of the Reformation. They will share highlights of their experiences exploring historic sites, eating German cuisine, and enjoying the culture of the area. A German meal will be served for lunch.

Do you have a question that you have always wanted to ask a pastor? This is your opportunity! This will be an open question and answer period with note cards provided in advance and at the door if you wish to keep your question confidential.
