Wholehearted Living
Lenten Worship
Growth Opportunities

NEW EVENING WORSHIP TIME: All evening Lenten worship will begin at 6:15 p.m. this year. This includes Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday and Good Friday services as well as mid-week worship.
Ash Wednesday: Lent begins on Wednesday, February 14th (that’s right: Valentine’s Day). Worship at 1:30 and 6:15 will include Imposition of Ashes and Holy Communion. We begin our Lenten journey hearing about the courage, compassion, and connection we need to live a wholehearted life.
Mid-week Worship: Come together for a brief worship service at 1:30 or 6:15 Wednesdays. Dramatic monologs from people in the Bible will highlight how encounters with God led them to be their authentic selves. Join us for these simple, meditative worship events.
Electronic Lenten Devotions: Take part in daily Lenten devotions based on the Sunday Psalm text. These devotions will be available on Trinity’s Facebook page, by weekly email, and on the Trinity website.
Printed Lenten Devotions: The same daily devotions will be available in print form with coloring pages. Each coloring page goes along with the Psalm from Sunday and can be put together at the end of Lent to make one large poster. Spend some extra time reflecting on the daily devotion as you create a work of art alone or together.
Personal Book Study: Pick up a personal copy of The Gifts of Imperfection by Brené Brown and learn more about wholehearted living. Gather some friends for an informal book study and talk about what you read. Guides for book clubs and families can be downloaded at
Wellness Challenge: Journey to Wholehearted Living is a wellness challenge that promotes physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing. The physical challenge encourages 30 minutes of daily physical activity. Track your progress on the chart available at the Welcome Center or emailed to members. The emotional/spiritual challenge takes us deeper into the weekly theme with links to videos and reflection questions. Pick which parts of the challenge fit your life the best.
Small Group Studies: Gather a small group of friends into your home or at a coffee shop to do the Wellness Challenge together, keep each other accountable and encourage one another through Lent.
Lenten Suppers: Support the youth and grow in fellowship as we share Wednesday evening meals beginning
February 21 at 5:15. Menus will be posted in the newsletter and bulletin announcements.
Art Journaling Class: These classes encourage creative, meditative time to reflect on the Guideposts to wholehearted living. It’s too late to join the classes already started for this spring but let the church office know if you are interested and we may offer this class again.
Brown Bag Bach: Be inspired by the rich tradition of music every Wednesday beginning February 21, at 12:15. Bring your lunch to the sanctuary and listen to some of the area’s best organists.
Coin Folders: Once again we will be mailing Lenten Coin Folder to homes. These folders are an easy way to teach and practice sacrificial giving and grow in generosity.
Palm Sunday: Jesus lived a wholehearted life that led him to the cross. We join in that journey through our worship during Holy Week beginning with the triumphal entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, March 25th. There will be procession with Palms at worship. The Youth will host their Palm Sunday Brunch in the Fellowship Hall from 8:30 to 11:00 a.m. Supplies will be available Palm Sunday morning in the Fellowship Hall for members to have the opportunity to make a set of Resurrection Eggs (story provided) to take home and use in their Easter celebrations.
Maundy Thursday: Worship at 1:30 and 6:15 on March 29th.
Good Friday: The Cantata The Final Hours will be the central message of our Good Friday worship at 6:15 on Friday, March 30th.
