Funerals

The death of a loved one is difficult to navigate. Between all of the plans that need to be made, the people who need to be notified, and the details that need to be tended to, it can be overwhelming; it barely leaves you time to grieve.

Trinity is here to walk alongside you and help you plan for a meaningful and thoughtful service. We welcome any family who is seeking a Christian service for their loved one. Membership at Trinity is not required. Our staff is experienced and compassionate and can guide you through the basics of planning a service.

Things to know when planning

  • Trinity strongly encourages all of our families who experience the death of a loved one to make use of a professional funeral home. They are experts attending to the needs of families during this time and will assist you with all of the details.
  • Trinity pastors will work with you to help plan the funeral service. If you have a request for a particular pastor, we will try and honor that request. However, the decision will also be based on the pastor’s schedule and workload at that time.
  • Funerals may be held in the main sanctuary, which accommodates up to 650 people, or the chapel, which accommodates 35 people.
  • We are available to assist in arranging for special music, including an organist and a soloist. Other instrumentalists are available upon request. We encourage guest musicians to contact Trinity’s Office prior to the service to discuss needs.
  • Refreshments following the service are also available for a nominal fee depending on the menu chosen.

Memorial Gifts

Memorial gifts are a thoughtful way of honoring a family member or friend who has died. Gifts may be given directly to Trinity Lutheran Church or to a designated ministry. Gifts may be given online or sent in the mail to: Trinity Lutheran Church, 213 N Pennsylvania Ave, Mason City, IA 50401, Attn: Pam Fike.

Jesus said… “I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die.” John 11:25-26

Livestreaming

Please note: Trinity does NOT livestream funerals. The wonderful funeral homes we work with will offer that service, if available.
