West Fork Archery

March 28, 2025 Youth By: Dani Vogel

When you think about spring tournament season, wrestling and basketball immediately come to mind. We do brackets, pray that no blizzards show up, and more. Archery wasn’t the first think on my mind this spring. However, clearly Katniss Everdeen (and Robin Hood) had some impact on some of our youth growing up. Five Trinity youth are a part of the West Fork Middle School archery team that qualified for State this year. Students could participate in either 3D archery, where the targets are sized like actual animals, or Bullseye, what we commonly associate with Robin Hood. Some of our students participated in both this year. One of our Youth, Katherine, placed 5th overall, and the entire West Fork Middle School team finished 1st in State. Watching them compete in Des Moines was an adventure, and they made the most of their weekend in the city with multiple trips to Jordan Creek Mall, a breakfast fueled by giant pancakes, and a celebration dinner at Hickory Park in Ames. We are super proud of our Youth!
