Usher

Greet people as you hand them a bulletin, assist latecomers, collect offerings, and usher people for communion.

Communion Assistant

Instructions and helpful hints for Communion Assistants:

  • Arrive at least 10-15 minutes early, and be sure to contact the pastor – to let him or her know you’re there and get any specific instructions for the service.
  • You may sit anywhere you wish during the service, but keep in mind that you’ll have to exit and return during communion, so sitting near an end is helpful.
  • Check the worship bulletin for the order of service. You will find exactly when communion is occurring during the service.
  • After the Words of Institution, go up to the altar rail to receive communion with the other worship leaders.
  • Assist in the distribution of communion, following any specific instructions given by the pastor or other worship leaders.
  • Assist in the distribution of communion.

Worship Transportation

The Worship Transportation Ministry was created to provide a means of transportation for all who need a ride to worship at Trinity. Any person unable to drive to worship is invited to call the church office by noon on Friday to reserve a ride to and from Sunday worship.

The Worship Transportation Ministry picks up members to attend the 9:30 a.m. Sunday service during the school year and the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service in the summer. Trinity employs the Region 2 Transit driver and bus to bring people to and from services. Trinity has a team of volunteers who rotate their services each Sunday. Typically, two volunteers ride on the
bus to assist members on and off the bus and into the church.

To contact the church office, call 641-423-0536 during the week. If your plans change on Saturday or Sunday, please call 641-583-3393 to leave a message.

Why become a worship volunteer?

Worship is the work of all of God’s people. Therefore, to represent all of us (and to illustrate our philosophy that we are all ministers) we encourage all to consider how you might share your gifts in worship.
